THE HOUSE AS THE MERGE OF QUOTIDIAN AND NECESSARY
The house can be understanded as the merge point between the natural unexpected quotidian activities connected with rest, leisure and familiy relationships; and the specific infrastructure and service activities, needed for the properly work of the houselife, as the kitchen, the hygiene spaces or the storage áreas.
At the lateral bands are gathered all the spaces connected with the service and manteinance of the house. Often pierced by several technical facilities, this areas keep a permanent layout that release the rest of spaces (living rooms and bedrooms) to became more flexible and variable during the life of the house.
Established the lateral bands with specific spaces to serve the house, the served spaces polarise at the two façades of the house. At the street façade (south) there are located the living room and the dinind room, whereas the bedrooms are located at the back courtyard façade (north). Thereby the day and night areas are divided at the house.

This layout of different purposes at different façades free up a big central void that will work as the 'dwelling core' of the house, 'the heart of the house'.
THE HEART OF THE HOUSE: VOID AND LIGHT
The annex of different domestic uses to the lateral sides and to the façades leave a hight ceiling void in the centre of the house. It just works as the big meeting place where dwellers from each room meet. It is the 'always crossed space' where, because of its size, it is possible to carry out spontaneous complementary activities at the house, such as reading at an isolated sofa, playing with the children by a carpet or displaying works or family souvenirs.
This central core of the house operate as a natural light chimney where the light is captured to be distribute through the rest of the house rooms.
Its high ceilings allow to lead the look diagonally to the inside producing a visual connection between upstairs and downstairs spaces.
